The Eclipse Agentry is an Eclipse plugin providing an interface to the Microsoft Agent ActiveX Control . It provides access both to Microsoft's own Agents Merlin, Peedy, Geenie and Robby and custom 3rd party Agents. Please refer to The Microsoft Agent Ring for downloading different Agents. Please mind, that use is due to licence terms.
The sources of the Eclipse Agentry are available at SourceForge.net on the
Eclipse Agentry's
project page.
There are 2 files available, one containing the actual interface (net.sf.agentry.zip) and another
(net.sf.agentry.ui.zip) provinding a demo UI to give an insight of how to use the interface. The interface is required to
run the UI demo.
Right now, basic operations are supported such as speaking, thinking, moving, gesturing, playing animations, show and hide.
These are fully encapsulated as java methods. Additionally, multiple actions can be sequenced to be processed as a so called
activity.
Using the Eclipse Agentry requires the Microsoft Agent Control to be installed on your system. The control is shipped with Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 2000. It needs to be installed otherwise. Download the control from MSDN - Microsoft Agent Downloads directly or from TCC Publishing. Again, please mind, that use is due to licence terms.
If you have any questions concerning the Eclipse Agentry please let us know. Have fun!
